Tollygunge Women ln Need (TWIN) was founded in 1995 by a Belgian couple Dr (Mrs) Marie Paul Baudot, formerly a professor at Leuven University and Late Josef (Tor) Mutton, formerly a reputed IT Professional. The NGO is engaged in rendering benevolent services amongst others, Education: both alphabetical and vocational and Health Care to its targeted underprivileged communities in and around Kolkata. Simultaneously, the couple had established a WlN organisation in Belgium to trace donations for supporting the TWIN programmes in India. The objectives of TWIN are :

  • To empower deprived women through social and economic development
  • To mainstream underprivileged children into formal education
  • To protect children from child labour and trafficking

Our Mission

Driven by our will to win, we are continuously working on the sustainable development of our beneficiaries and the underprivileged neighbourhoods to provide good quality education, quality an essential health-care and raising community awareness to improve quality of life over the last 27 years. The NGO has been continuing its charitable services with financial assistance from Belgium under the able leadership of a duly constituted Governing Body which includes Mr. A.K. Basu, an aluminous of the Manchester University, having long experience in professional management while working with a multi-national company.

Sustainable development by ensuring quality education, health care, enhanced capacity and wider scope for income generation and micro credit for the destitute communities around Kolkata.
